Clean your dog wellDog owners are always worried on how to clean their beloved pets well without causing any inconvenience to the animal. Good grooming includes cleaning the dog well which calls for special attention.

Dogs are naturally averse to being groomed because they do not feel comfortable when poked and prodded to clean. You will have to make your pet accept the fact that grooming is important and that it will do him no harm. For new dog owners, it is advisableto train your pet in such a manner that is gets accustomed to the grooming sessions and it becomes a routine for the pet.

How to decide when your pet needs a wash?

 

· Watch out for fleas or insects sticking to your dog’s fur.

· During his jaunts outside, if your dog has come in contact with any chemical substances or any other dirty substance then an immediate bath is required.

· If you feel that your pet still remains irritable after a bath, then consult a veterinarian.

A few tips dog cleaning

· While bathing your pet, clean the ears well to keep dirt away. It will also help you check in case there is any impending danger of infection.

· The eyes also need to cleaned regularly and checked similarly for infection or irritations.

· There are special tooth brushes and pastes available to clean a dog’s teeth, use them adequately for effective cleaning.

· Dogs grow nails that are dangerous for themselves as well as the people around hence it is important to cut their nails regularly. In case your pet does not cooperate then you need to take it to a veterinarian who can teach you how to do it.

· The coat of a dog should always be clean and gleaming. There are special soaps available to clean a dog’s fur and coat. In case your pet has a lot of hair, use dog shampoos that effectively clean the same.

Tips on how to bathe your dog

· Ensure that the water temperature is comfortable for the dog.

· Wet the body completely and then apply the shampoo or the soap and massage thoroughly.

· Protect the eyes well while applying shampoo or it will be a very bad experience for the dog.

· While rinsing, pour enough water to wash away all soap bubbles and have a soft towel ready to dry your pet.

· Bathe the dog in an area where the temperature is acceptable to the dog, in case it is too cold then the moment the dog is wet, it will want to get dried, even before being washed with soap.

· Use the towel to dry your dog but do not scrub in a manner that will result in pulling out fur. Do not use human hair dryers to dry your dog.
